Market Growth Factors
Japanese ICT market is estimated to grow greatly due to the growing adoption of IoT-based devices in consumer electronics, military, agriculture, construction, and other applications. With the increased requirement for digital connectivity and advanced ICT implementations in the region, there has been a rise in government spending on the maintenance and modernization of advanced ICT infrastructure in Japan. An abundance of modernization programs initiated by the government is influencing the growth of ICT in Japan, thus creating a favorable environment for ICT growth.
Connected platforms are increasingly used in complex environments by government departments and agencies to deliver improved services. This drives demand for ICT technology, and partnerships emerge to manage the digital transformation in terms of cost reduction and improved service delivery. Usage of cloud-based applications and mobile apps is relatively cheaper and can provide long-term cost and business benefits. The growth of SaaS and TaaS applications is helping organizations make investments in IT and communication services. These organizations can install flexible and scalable solutions in accordance with their business requirements.
Local e-governance projects have developed at a fast pace as envisaged in Japan's E-Japan strategy. The government has a policy based on the E-Japan strategy to promote the engagement of citizens, the transparent flow of opinions, and the self-assessment of online services. Thus, these government-driven programs improve service delivery and promote the rapid expansion and deployment of ICT technologies across the public and private sectors, subsequently accelerating the adoption of AI and cloud technologies, which in turn spur further investment and utilization of a wide spectrum of ICT technologies.
